VETTING CANDIDATES TO RESTORE CONSTITUTIONAL FIDELITY

True the Ballot is an initiative, beginning in St. Joseph County, Indiana, dedicated to vetting candidates and safeguarding our constitutional republic.

We focus on ensuring elected officials understand and uphold their Oath of Office, giving special regard to the Preambles of both the U.S. and Indiana Constitutions. THE PURPOSE OF TRUE THE BALLOT

UNDERSTANDING AND HONORING THE OATH OF OFFICE

The oath of office is not a mere technicality or formality. It is a solemn commitment to a specific set of principles that form the foundation of every public office in the United States.

Those principles are plainly declared in the Preambles of both the U.S. and Indiana Constitutions.

True the Ballot is dedicated to helping public officials and citizens alike understand, respect, and uphold the oath of office, ensuring that the values it represents are preserved and honored.

WHY WE VET BEFORE WE VOTE

HOW WE VET OURSELVES

Vetting begins with accountability — both through self-reflection and transparent public review. That is why True the Ballot has created online exams tailored to each member’s role, with results made available for all to see.

Any official who takes an Oath of Office and serves the citizens of St. Joseph County, Indiana is automatically considered a member. Each member’s profile will display their official duties and their exam results. These exams are not graded by us — the answers speak for themselves.

Citizens are also welcome to join by taking an exam. While they may keep their results private, those who choose to share their commitment and pass the exam will receive a certificate recognizing their support for, and loyalty to, the principles that make our Constitutional Republic unique.
